HARVEST NOTES -Our 2019 vintage gave us an extended rainfall season with above average moisture. Spring was cool and wet causing some issues with berry set in some varietals. From late-spring through September variable weather patterns including unseasonal high temperatures that slowed vine and berry growth. Late September, however, was mild creating optimum berry maturity. The 2019 harvest was delayed and compact with slightly below-average yields but ideal flavors and color concentrations were high.WINEMAKING NOTES- Austin Hope Rosé was produced using the direct pressing method, where individual lots of grapes were pressed whole cluster with no maceration time resulting in an incredibly light pink color. The juice from these grapes were then fermented separately, by varietal,in 80% stainless steel and 20% oak. The wine in oak barrels stayed sur lie for the entirety of aging before the final blend was assembled in early Spring 2020. The wine was gently crossflow filtered beforebottling.TASTING NOTES One of the few Rose’s Austin Hope has ever made, this elegantly crisp wine has floral bright aromas reminiscent of springtime. On the palate, fresh cut watermelon and strawberry flavor consume your taste buds. As the wine evolves, crisp acidity is balanced by beautiful minerality making this wine a summer favorite.
