“The Paso Robles benchmark since 1996”

The Quintessential
Paso Robles Red

When our family arrived in Paso Robles, it was a rural, grain farming community. There were very few grape vines and even fewer wineries. Treana was but a dream yet to come to fruition: a dream of a world-class wine able to compete on the world stage, and yet approachable enough for all to enjoy.

Treana is inspired by the Spanish word for a trio of natural elements and for this reason it is our flagship wine, representing the trinity of elements that make Paso Robles an exceptional region for growing wine grapes: the sun, soil, and sea. The Paso Robles AVA provides an abundance of sunshine during the growing season, creating idyllic conditions for growing world-class wine grapes. Arguably the most important element, the soil of our home is one of the most unique and diverse of any growing region in the world. The sea both attracts us to this, most beautiful region, and creates ideal growing conditions. Our proximity to the Pacific Ocean, which sends cooling breezes every afternoon, causes large diurnal temperature swings from day to night, which preserves the natural acidity in the grapes.

Inspired by the unique alchemy of these three elements, we crafted Treana wines, the benchmark for Paso Robles blends since 1996.

Vineyard Notes

Pursuing vineyards that deliver refined flavors requires a bit of work. The key is finding the right combination of mature vines, new plantings, newer clones and the varietals that enhance the other varietals in the blend; all grown by the best winegrowers.

We work with growers who are experienced and hands-on. One of our longtime winegrowers is in his vineyard every day and does most of the work himself. He knows his vineyard. He knows his vines. This attention to detail pays off in the form of intense flavors and bold color.

We source grapes from the Creston District, Estrella District (far west and far east boundaries) and the Geneseo District from vineyards that have proven, over time, the sites are producing the complex flavors and color profiles that are required for this rich blend.
